The Hawker Sea Hawk was a carrier-based fighter aircraft designed for air defence and ground attack missions. It first flew just 2 years after the end of the Second World War, in 1947. Powered by a Rolls Royce Nene turbojet engine, the Sea Hawk was armed with cannons, rockets and bombs and had foldable wings, to help store the aircraft aboard aircraft carriers such as HMS Ark Royal and HMS Eagle.
