We’d like to highlight a historical unit, the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion “Triple Nickles.” This battalion was constituted on February 25, 1943, and while they didn’t serve overseas during the World War II, they played an integral role in fighting forest fires on the west coast caused by Japanese balloons carrying incendiary bombs.
