Cabinet has approved amendments to the Income Tax Act to allow disaster relief honorarium paid by employers to be treated as non-taxable during formally declared disaster periods. Drafting instructions have also been issued to the Chief Parliamentary Counsel to give effect to the new regime. The announcement was made by Finance Minister Hon.
