Improperly Set PRD This standpipe outlet has a limiting stem style pressure restricting device (PRD). The PRD is improperly set and will not allow the standpipe outlet to be opened. This is a prime example of why we MUST know how to identify both pressure restricting devices (PRD) and pressure reducing valves (PRV). In the case of PRDs, once we identify them, we should remove them before connecting our hoseline. Remove the PRD before it can create a problem and then WE will control our own press
