There is no consensus among Kansas City fans about the likelihood of Eric Bieniemy returning to the Chiefs as offensive coordinator. The Chiefs reportedly contacted the Bears, requesting an interview with Bieniemy, who was Chicago’s running backs coach this past season. Bieniemy was on Chiefs coach Andy Reid’s staff for 10 years, from 2013-22.

There would be reason to get excited about this hire.

In his final season with Kansas City in 2022, Bieniemy helped the Chiefs lead the league in scoring (29.2 points per game), according to his Bears bio.

Leaders within the Chiefs organization have openly supported OC Matt Nagy’s chances of becoming a head coach again. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and head coach Andy Reid both believe Nagy deserves to be a head coach in this league.
