Instead, the driver ran from the vehicle and fired shots at agents.

President Donald Trump and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt are distancing themselves from the provocative statements made by top administration officials in the immediate aftermath of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti involving federal agents in Minneapolis.

A senior Border Patrol commander and some agents are expected to leave Minneapolis as early as Tuesday, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

That included Noem saying Pretti “attacked” federal law enforcement while “brandishing” a firearm and saying the incident was an example of “domestic terrorism.”
