Somerset Council wants the government to help pay for damage caused in the wake of Storm Chandra.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service Honolulu office say strong trade winds and heavy rain — capable of producing flash flooding — are increasingly likely Saturday through Monday (Feb. 7-9).

Gov. Josh Green issued an Emergency Proclamation ahead of the predicted severe weather this upcoming weekend, the governor’s office announced on Feb. 6.

People are asked to follow warning signs and find alternative routes as some roads are impassable.

Forecast heavy rain will fall on to already-saturated ground, the Met Office has warned.
