Protesters gathered in frigid Boston on Saturday, for the second consecutive day, to show opposition to the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in Minneapolis.
Protests against federal immigration enforcement have intensified nationwide following the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis earlier this month.
Thousands rallied in Boston, demanding Massachusetts cut ties with ICE after federal agents fatally shot two individuals.
Boston-area businesses and a crowd at Copley Square showed solidarity with immigrants during a nationwide strike protesting ICE enforcement actions.
They were organized also in large part to protest a military parade in the nation’s capital that marked the Army’s 250th anniversary and coincided with Trump’s birthday. “No Kings” organizers at the time called the parade a “coronation” that was symbolic of what they characterized as Trump’s growing authoritarian overreach.
Demonstrations across the country have continued throughout the weekend in response to federal immigration raids and the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by immigration enforcement officers in Minneapolis.
